Dense fog causes MCI accident on I-35

FREEBORN COUNTY, MN - On March 15, 2010 at 9:50 a.m. Freeborn County dispatchers send out fire department, ambulance and law enforcement personnel to I-35, just north of exit 11, for a motor vehicle accident with a semi-truck and mini-van. There was five occupants in the mini-van, with one fatality.

Upon arrival crews found a semi-truck in the median and the mini-van on the shoulder. 918 Albert Lea was extricating the driver and 930 Clarks Grove was treating the the other occupants.

920 Albert Lea Township set up scene safety buffer zones.

At the scene were Albert Lea, Albert Lea Township, Clarks Grove Fire Departments, Neave Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol, Freeborn County Sheriffs Office, Albert Lea Police Department and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
