Firefighters Make Quick Work in Medford.

Medford NY- On Sunday March 14th at about 11:33 AM the Medford Fire Department was tones out for a reported house fire on Meadow Ave off Cobb Lane. On arrival the chiefs found smoke showing and requested a line through the door. They also requested to activate the working fire assignment so that mutual aid could be started from Hagerman and North Patchogue to the scene.

Multiple Units from Medford FD including Engines 5-14-7, 5-14-12 & Ladder 5-14-5 were on scene. As was North Patchogue Ladder 2 (The Murph Truck) along with their Chiefs. Hagerman Squad 5 was on scene as the RIT team. Firefighters worked to locate the fire which appeared to be in the walls near the homeowners oil burner and once located they were able to quickly put out the fire and ensured there was no further extension. Medford Ambulance was on scene for support but their were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. The scene was placed under control at about 12:01PM and was later turned over to the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshal Office for investigation.
