This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

DUMONT, NJ - Firefighters made quick work of a bedroom fire early Thursday morning, March 11th, while also having to deal with hoarding conditions inside the home.

Firefighters were requested around 3:00 A.M. to 63 Richard Dr. for a reported house fire called in by a neighbor. Dumont PD arrived on scene and advised that there was heavy smoke coming from the second floor. Chief Pfeiffer arrived moments later, confirming the PD's reports and transmitted the working fire.

Engine 3 arrived on scene and stretched a one-and-three-quarter inch line through the front door, where they were met with hoarding conditions. Engine 5 arrived and supplied Engine 3 as firefighters quickly extinguished a bedroom fire on the second floor. Truck 2 laddered the roof and vented the structure.

The fire was knocked down within 15 minutes, and crews continued to open up and check for any further extension. Mutual Aid from Tenafly, Bergenfield and Demarest assisted on scene. No residents were home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The fire is currently under investigation.
