GARFIELD, NJ - Garfield firefighters quickly knocked down a morning garage fire on March 10th. Around 9:40 A.M., Garfield companies were dispatched to 155 Market St. on a report of flames and smoke coming from a garage.

Assistant Chief Mike Colon arrived and confirmed a working fire. The garage was heavily involved on Engine 5's arrival. As lines were stretched and the door opened, firefighters contained the fire to the one-story, two-car garage. No injuries were reported, and the blaze was under control within 30 minutes.

The fire is being investigated by the Garfield fire prevention. Mutual aid from Saddle Brook assisted on the scene. Stand by units from Clifton, Elmwood Park, Lodi, Maywood, Passaic and Rochelle Park covered the city.
