At 6:15 pm on Monday, 3/9/2026, the Moosup, Central Village, Atwood Hose, Plainfield and Oneco Departments with the Danielson & South Killingly FAST as well as Moosup Ambulance were dispatched to 14 Graham Avenue for a rear porch on fire extending to the home.
Car 94 arrived at 6:21 with fire showing from the Charlie/Delta corner and established command. Ladder 194 set up on the Delta side and stretched their front bumper line. They knocked down the exterior fire and then stretched into the residence. Tanker 194 nursed the ladder until Engine 194 reverse laid to a hydrant at the intersection of Prospect Street and Salisbury Avenue.
Engine 197 threw a ladder to the roof of the porch and opened up the exterior wall, where they found fire extending vertically. A second line was stretched to that crew, where they darkened it down. Crews from Moosup and Plainfield overhauled the interior making sure the fire did not get into the attic. The Plainfield Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
