CENTRAL SQUARE, NY - When a garage fire was reported in the Pennellville Volunteer Fire Department's district on Biddlecum Road, March 3rd, firefighters from the Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department automatically responded as mutual aid.

When sheriff's deputies arrived, they initially noticed smoke pouring from a three-car garage attached to the house, endangering it. Shortly after being dispatched, Pumper 622 arrived and discovered that there was a lot of smoke and a fire in the garage.

A second alarm was requested to bring more firefighters and equipment to the scene. Crews collaborated with Palermo Volunteer Fire Department and Phoenix Enterprise Fire Company No. 1 to pull multiple handlines and contain the fire. Water supply was supported by tanker operations. Before going back to work, firefighters worked for almost four hours.
