— March 1st — During Sunday's reporting period, the Almond Fire & Rescue responded to two occurrences. Firefighters first responded to a pickup vehicle fire on Interstate 86 in Almond. Crews responded promptly and extinguished the vehicle fire before it spread or caused further damage.
Later that evening, responders were called to a carbon monoxide alarm and a possible gas leak. Firefighters confirmed the presence of a leak and requested aid from National Fuel in resolving the issue. Officials indicated that everyone engaged in both situations was safe.
