At around 6:30 p.m. on February 27, the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corporation responded to a reported vehicle fire near 134 Bushendorf Road. Dispatch reported that a vehicle and some nearby trees were on fire.
Car 6-01 came first and confirmed a fully involved car fire with fuel burning, prompting a call for more personnel. Rescue 6-10 and Engine 6-20 reacted by deploying a handline to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters stayed on the scene for almost two hours to cool the vehicle, aid the towing firm, and clean up the roads. There were no injuries recorded. The Ravena Rescue Squad, the Albany County Sheriff's Office EMS Division, and the Town of Coeymans Police Department all pitched in to help. Officials acknowledged mutual aid partners and stated that the department is still recruiting additional personnel to bolster emergency response activities.
