Quick Response Contained Nail Salon Fire on Franklin Avenue

Franklin Square, NY - Franklin Square and Munson Fire Department units responded to a reported working fire early Sunday morning, February 15, 2026, at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Franklin Avenue between Cloud Avenue and Fenworth Boulevard.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fire inside a one-story taxpayer building, with the blaze originating in a nail salon.


Crews quickly stretched and operated one hand line, successfully knocking down the fire before it could extend to neighboring occupancies or spread into the building’s cockloft.


Thanks to the rapid response, the fire was contained to the original occupancy, preventing further damage to adjacent exposures. No injuries were reported.


The cause of the fire remains under investigation. All fire department units at the scene operated under the command of Chief of Department Pons.
