Saugerties, NY — February 10th — In response to a reported house fire in the Town of Ulster, the Cedar Grove Fire Company, 2885 NY-32, arrived. Responding cops asked for a working fire assignment to bring more personnel and utilities after receiving early reports of fire on the side of the building. A 25-by-35-foot one-story house with substantial smoke and fire coming from the number four side was reported by first-arriving units.
While teams secured a water supply from a hydrant, firefighters extended two handlines and launched an interior assault. Other firefighters helped with overhaul, ventilation, and search operations. The house was not found during searches. The Hurley Fire Department, Glasco FASTeam, and a number of county and local organizations assisting with operations and investigation provided mutual aid on the incident.
