Mutual Aid Crews Support Woodstock Fire District Incident

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Glasco, NY — February 15th — A reported basement fire prompted the Glasco Fire Company, located at 139 Liberty Street, to respond to the Woodstock Fire District under mutual aid. To assist with fireground operations, Glasco firefighters staffed unit 29-12 and used their FASTeam. The Firefighter Assist and Search Team, or FASTeam, set up shop close to the command post and was always prepared to help inside workers.

To improve firefighter safety and offer quick support during interior operations, FAST units are frequently deployed to working fires around Ulster County. While technicians performed ventilation, searches, and overhauls inside the building, Woodstock firemen tried to contain the basement fire. Additional mutual aid departments supported the response, providing manpower and apparatus as part of the county’s coordinated fire service system.
