Glasco, NY — February 9th — In response to a reported second alarm structure fire in the Town of Kingston, the Glasco Fire Company, located at 139 Liberty Street, assisted the Sawkill Fire District. In order to assist teams working on the fireground, Glasco firemen staffed unit 29-12 and used their FASTeam. The FASTeam, or Firefighter Assist and Search Team, staged near the command post and remained ready to assist interior crews if needed.
These teams are commonly assigned at working fires throughout Ulster County to improve firefighter safety during interior operations. Additional mutual aid departments responded to the scene to provide manpower, apparatus, and support during the second alarm response. Firefighters worked together under the mutual aid system used across the county to manage staffing, maintain accountability, and support ongoing suppression operations.
