Allentown Crews Handle Back-to-Back Emergencies

ALLENTOWN, NY — February 22nd —During the evening, Allentown Fire Department workers responded to two occurrences. The first was assisting Alma and Wellsville Rescue with a UTV collision on County Road 18.

Firefighters arrived to discover the victim had become trapped beneath the truck. Crews worked to extricate the patient and secure the UTV by attaching it to Wellsville Rescue 1 to keep it from sliding toward responders. The victim was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

While dealing with that incident, units were alerted to a second alarm in Bolivar for a working structure fire with claims of entrapment. Bolivar workers freed two trapped people before passing patient treatment to EMS. Allentown firefighters aided with inside and outdoor operations until released by headquarters.
