This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

At 6:40 p.m. on February 23, units from the South Jackson Fire Department, Arcade Fire Department, Nicholson Fire Department, Jackson County Correctional Institution crews, and Jackson County EMS M-6 were responded to the 700 block of Archer Grove Road for a reported residence fire. According to initial accounts, someone may still be inside the house.

Firefighters who arrived first saw a highly damaged double-wide mobile home and began searching from the unburned side of the structure. Shortly after activities began, new information revealed that no one remained inside the home. Crews were unable to completely extinguish the fire due to the structure's antiquity and a multi-tier roof construction. Officials reported no injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
