At around 5:04 p.m. on February 27, the Coffee County Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire on Dewberry Road on the county's east side.

Upon arrival, fire units discovered a single-story residence of approximately 2,100 square feet with substantial fire showing throughout. There were no occupants inside when we arrived. Firefighters commenced suppression operations and were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

There were no injuries recorded. Volunteers from around the department responded to help with the fire assault, overhaul, and scene assistance. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
