Crews Monitor Hot Spots After Brush Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On February 5, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to a woodlands fire near New Kings Road and Edgewood Avenue. Crews brought the fire under control and remained on the scene to monitor and kill hot spots to avoid resurgence. Officials emphasized that the current dry weather have raised the risk of outdoor fires. Firefighters urged residents to exercise caution while using equipment or engaging in activities that may generate sparks, as even little ignition sources can cause brush fires.
