CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — February 4th — Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services members celebrated Georgia Firefighter Recognition Day at the Georgia State Capitol alongside firefighters from across the state. The event featured legislative meetings, recognition ceremonies, and an appreciation supper centered on public safety priorities and firefighter lobbying.
Officials stated that these discussions help to guarantee that the interests of firefighters and the communities they serve are included in governmental decision-making. The agency also announced that Kaleigh Liscio has been named Georgia's Fire & Life Safety Educator of the Year. According to leaders, Liscio's preventative and outreach efforts have helped connect with children, families, and seniors throughout Cherokee County.
