CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FL — February 4th — Charlotte County Public Safety welcomed a group of Peace River Homeschoolers to a hands-on fire safety and community outreach event. Children toured the apparatus, examined tools and equipment, and learnt about the gear used by firemen during emergencies. Crews also discussed vital safety subjects such as when to call 911, what information to provide, and the importance of fire safety and prevention. Students were able to test out a fire hose and hear the sounds that emergency vehicles make during replies.
