Elevator Rescue at SpringHill Suites Frees 15 Trapped Occupants

Statesboro, GA - On 13th February 2026 at 10:37 a.m., Truck 1, Engine 3, and Battalion 1 were dispatched to the SpringHill Suites following reports of individuals trapped in an elevator. Upon arrival, crews confirmed that the elevator had malfunctioned, leaving 15 people stuck inside.
Engine 3 and Truck 1 personnel immediately initiated rescue operations. Firefighters deployed ladders and worked efficiently to extricate all occupants safely and without further incident.
The individuals rescued were members of the University of West Virginia Mountaineers baseball team.
