Nassau Crews Safely Mitigate Propane Leak

YULEE, FL — February 3rd — On Cayman Circle, a 250-gallon propane tank was reported to be leaking. Nassau County Fire Rescue Professionals Local 3101, Yulee, FL, United States, 32041, responded to the scene. In order to properly burn up the leaking fuel and lower the risk of ignition, crews guarded the area, created a safety perimeter, and employed controlled flaring.


In accordance with established hazardous materials and propane safety protocols utilized throughout the fire department, firefighters deployed specialized equipment known as a "Red Dragon." Crews were able to control the leak while safeguarding the homes and people in the area thanks to the operation. Strong coordination, training, and hazard awareness are still essential when working with pressurized fuel systems, according to officials. The incident was handled safely, and no injuries were recorded.
