Mutual Aid Supports Wrightsville Fire at Idywild Drive

WRIGHTSVILLE, GA — January 27th — The Wrightsville Fire Department, located at 6785 East College Street, Wrightsville, GA, United States, 31096, responded after Johnson County 911 got a complaint of a structure fire on Idywild Drive. When the crews arrived, they discovered a fire that was actively burning and started suppressing it.


In addition to Johnson County EMS, Wrightsville Police Department, and the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, mutual aid was offered by Johnson SP Station 14 and Johnson County EMA Fire Rescue Stations 3, 4, and 9. There were no reported injuries, however the house was severely damaged. The critical role of volunteer firemen in rural towns and the significance of effective interagency cooperation were underscored by officials, who observed that many volunteers reacted after working full-time jobs.
