HINESVILLE, GA — January 30th — As part of a United Way of the Coastal Empire program serving Liberty and Long counties, Deputy Fire Marshal Marta Cuevas and members of B Shift with the Hinesville Fire Department, 308 South Commerce St., 31313, spent the morning reading to students. In addition to fostering goodwill between kids and public safety officers, the program promoted young literacy.

In order to increase confidence and fortify prevention initiatives, community engagement continues to be a crucial component of fire department operations around the country. Early fire and life safety education is also supported by these visits. According to department officials, collaborations with groups like United Way facilitate resource connections, raise public awareness of safety issues, and foster long-term community resilience throughout the regions they serve.
