DELAND, FL: DeLand Fire Department had a busy year in 2025, responding to 9,624 calls for service. Medical crises accounted for the majority of replies (7,186), followed by 879 fire calls and 1,559 other service requests. According to officials, the call volume indicates the continuous increase and demand for emergency services in the neighborhood. On the preventative side, personnel executed 3,208 inspections and reinspections, as well as 643 permit inspections and 586 plan reviews. In addition, the agency supported 309 other preventative programs and held 139 public education events.
