WINTER GARDEN, FL — February 10th — In honor of World Heart Day, West Orange High School received hands-on CPR instruction from Winter Garden Professional Fire Fighters. Students learned from firefighters how to identify cardiac arrest, dial 911, and start chest compressions until help arrives. The focus of the lesson was on easy, practical actions that onlookers can take during the initial moments of an emergency.

Early CPR can double or triple survival, according to officials, making community education an essential component of contemporary fire and emergency medical services. Such initiatives assist national initiatives to raise youth confidence and public awareness. Partnerships with nearby schools also improve results during urgent medical situations, foster professions in public safety, and deepen community bonds.
