BEACON, NY - Beacon Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 3490 responded to a reported vehicle fire dangerously close to a residence on Spring Valley Street, February 14th.
Assistant Chief 33-2 arrived on scene to find an active vehicle fire burning approximately five-feet from the structure. Crews acted quickly to bring the fire under control, preventing flames from extending to the nearby home. After knocking down the fire, firefighters conducted a thorough check for extension to ensure the residence had not been compromised.
Thanks to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of personnel, the incident was contained without reported structural damage.
