February 10, 2026 — Maysville Area Volunteer Fire Department held a hands-on dump tank training exercise at Maysville Elementary School to sharpen water supply operations and strengthen coordination among firefighters. During the evening session, crews practiced deploying portable dump tanks, drafting water from the tanks into Engine 51, and managing efficient tanker operations to simulate rural fireground conditions where hydrants may not be readily available. Firefighters reviewed proper setup procedures, pump operations, and safety protocols while working together to ensure a steady and reliable water flow. Department leaders emphasized that regular training like this is critical to maintaining readiness, improving response efficiency, and ensuring crews are fully prepared to protect the community during emergency incidents.
