Baldwin County Crews Contain Residential Structure Fire on Garrett Way

February 23, 2026 — Baldwin County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire on Garrett Way with Engine 17, Squad 17 and Battalion 1 arriving on scene alongside Milledgeville Fire Department Engine 1, Engine 2 and Ladder 1, as well as Atrium Health EMS and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. Firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions upon arrival but quickly initiated an aggressive attack to contain the blaze. All occupants were able to safely evacuate the home prior to crews bringing the fire under control. Emergency personnel remained on scene to extinguish hot spots and secure the structure. Officials reported that the cause of the fire is currently unknown and will be investigated once overhaul operations are complete.
