February 24, 2026 — Starke Fire Rescue Engine 1 assisted county fire units in responding to a head-on traffic collision at the intersection of State Road 230 and SE 17th Avenue. Crews arrived on scene to assess injuries, secure the area, and provide emergency medical care to those involved. State Road 230 was temporarily shut down while first responders evaluated patients and worked to ensure the safety of motorists and emergency personnel. The extent of injuries has not yet been released, and motorists were advised to seek alternate routes while the roadway remained closed.
