February 26, 2026 — Lynn Haven Fire Rescue participated in a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)–planned safety drill at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. The full-scale exercise, required every three years under FAA regulations, is designed to evaluate emergency response capabilities, coordination, and preparedness in the event of an aircraft-related incident. Fire crews worked alongside airport personnel and partnering agencies to practice fire suppression, rescue operations, and incident command procedures in a controlled training environment. Officials noted that the drill helps ensure responders remain ready to protect passengers, airport staff, and the surrounding community in the event of an aviation emergency.
