Baker County Crews Contain Multiple Brush Fires

On February 23, Baker County Fire Rescue teams responded to many brush fires throughout the county, including those on Steel Bridge Road, Hickory Street, and Braxton Road/King Ruise Road. The largest fire burnt around 13 acres before being brought under control.
Crews faced dry and windy conditions, which accelerated fire spread. The Florida Forest Service supported with containment operations, and Macclenny Fire Rescue and the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department gave mutual aid support. Firefighters worked to construct control lines and safeguard surrounding properties.
