Lee County Urges Residents to Check Address Visibility

Lee County Fire and EMS reminded people that having well posted addresses might save time during an emergency. When dialing 9-1-1, seconds are critical, and first responders rely on visible house numbers to swiftly locate the correct home.
Officials urged residents to examine their mailbox and residence from the street to ensure that the address is clearly visible. Mailboxes should have reflective numbers at least four inches tall on both sides, with a strong contrast. House numbers should be at least four inches tall, visible from the road, and not obscured by planting, decorations, or poor lighting.
According to fire officials, a brief check can assist reduce delays and promote speedier emergency response when it is most needed.
