Wetumpka Crews Assist with Burn Pile Fire

WETUMPKA, FL — February 9th — The Wetumpka Volunteer Fire Department arrived on mutual aid to assist the Hosford-Telogia Volunteer Fire Department with a burn pile that spread and burnt a nearby yard and field. Crews worked with the Florida Forest Service to keep the fire under control and prevent it from spreading.

During operations, one of Wetumpka's engines got stuck in the terrain. The Florida Forest Service aided in safely removing the device, allowing personnel to continue suppression efforts. Officials stated that the episode demonstrated the significance of strong interagency collaboration and coordinated action during brush and wildfire disasters. No injuries were reported, and crews cleared the scene after ensuring the fire was fully contained.
