The Flagler Beach Fire Department received numerous reports on February 5 reporting smoke and ash in the region. According to officials, the conditions were caused by a huge brush fire along US 1 that was managed by the Florida Forest Service and Flagler County Fire Rescue. At the time, there was no danger to the Flagler Beach neighborhood.
The department maintained regular communication with partner agencies and continued to monitor conditions as the incident unfolded. Crews remained ready to respond if situations altered. With the current dry weather, homeowners and visitors were reminded to practice fire safety and stay vigilant. Officials urged the public to avoid outdoor burning and to call 911 if they saw any evidence of fire or smoke.
