DECATUR, GA — February 6th —Decatur Fire Department workers recently completed their yearly Child Passenger Safety Technician recertification, highlighting the department's emphasis on injury prevention and community education. As part of the procedure, firefighters were examined on their ability to install a variety of car seats to ensure they are up to date on best practices and safety regulations.

The training also included confined space concepts, which were demonstrated utilizing vehicle interiors to imitate cramped working circumstances. The agency also welcomed the Atlanta Regional Coordinator of the Child Occupant Safety Project, who witnessed the evaluations and helped with the training.
