February 21, 2026 — The Bridgewater Fire Department responded to the Town of East Bridgewater to provide mutual aid during a working structure fire. Engine 4, Car 1, and Car 2 were dispatched to the scene with Group 1 on duty, assisting East Bridgewater crews with fire suppression and operational support. Officials said the call required additional staffing, prompting off-duty personnel to be called in to maintain adequate coverage in Bridgewater while crews operated at the active incident. Mutual aid partnerships between neighboring communities play a vital role in ensuring sufficient resources and coordinated emergency response during significant fire events. No injuries were immediately reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
