HIGGSTON, GA — February 6th — A reported home structure fire with individuals still inside prompted the Higgston Fire Department, Tarrytown Fire Department, and State Prison Fire Department to react. When firefighters arrived, they verified that every resident had been safely evacuated. To contain the fire and safeguard surrounding buildings, crews started coordinating suppression, ventilation, and water delivery operations. Strong coordination and quick reaction, according to officials, helped keep the incident from being a complete loss.

In order to provide more staff and resources during structure fires, mutual aid alliances are still essential for volunteer and rural agencies. In order to minimize damage and guarantee the safety of responders and occupants, early notification and prompt response were crucial. There were no reported injuries, and the house only experienced minor damage. To keep everyone in the region prepared, department heads stressed the importance of ongoing training and collaboration.
