PORT RICHEY, FL — January 30th — As part of its Firefighter Friday program, the Port Richey Fire Department honored Driver Engineer and EMT Justin Reedy, showcasing his dedication and expertise. At the age of 15, Reedy started his firefighting career as a Fire Explorer. He began volunteering in 2004 and joined the department on a part-time basis in 2015. In 2019, he was promoted to full-time fireman. He now supports local water rescue and marine response efforts as a Rescue Swimmer, Rapid Diver, and Boat Operator. His education and skills, according to officials, improve the department's preparedness for marine crises, harsh weather, and accidents involving waterways. With his brother now serving and his father recently retiring, Reedy too hails from a family of firefighters.
