HAINES CITY, FL — February 1st — An active residential multi-family apartment fire on Florida Avenue W has the Haines City Fire Department on the scene. In order to safeguard inhabitants and neighboring units, crews responded to reports of smoke and fire and started suppression and search efforts. In order to supplement fire attack, ventilation, and water supply while maintaining scene safety, mutual aid partners were asked.

Because of the possibility of fire spreading across units and life safety concerns, multi-family accidents necessitate a coordinated response. In order to ensure the safety of emergency vehicles and personnel, Florida Avenue W is closed between A Street and Brooke's Place. Both locals and drivers are urged to stay out of the area and take routes.
