EPSOM, NH - The cause of a four-alarm fire is being investigated after heavy fire tore through the 1960's wood-framed house on Dover Road Tuesday afternoon, January 31st. The home is vacant and has been for sale for the last several years.
"There is no reason for this thing to catch fire; that's why we are trying to figure out why, but we don't know at this point," said Epsom Fire Chief Stewart Yeaton.
Epsom Fire Department, along with automatic mutual aid, responded to the fire with numerous reports of heavy smoke coming from the metal roof line. First arriving crews found the front porch of the house fully involved around 2:30 P.M. Second, third and fourth alarms were transmitted for manpower due to freezing temperatures and water supply.
