Athens Crews Handle Rollover, Fire, and Downed Power Line

On February 9, about midday, units from the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department responded to a rollover collision on Cleveland Road. The crash knocked down a power post and started a grass fire, which spread to the vehicle and eventually ignited the fuel tank.

Firefighters from Engine 22, Rescue 4, Engine 26, and Tanker 1 arrived and administered first aid to the occupants while addressing several dangers on the scene. technicians put out the vehicle and brush fires, guarded the area, and supported law officers with traffic control while utility technicians repaired the broken power line. Two victims were transferred to a local hospital, with injuries that were unclear at the time. Officials stated that the incident demonstrated teamwork and coordination during a complex reaction.
