Clewiston Firefighters Honored with Life Saving Medals

CLEWISTON, FL — January 28th: During a Monday night City Commission meeting, Chief McCarthy and members of Clewiston Fire Rescue acknowledged four firemen for their actions in two separate emergencies, which saved lives. Deputy Chief Robert Hunton Jr., Captain Greg Westberry, Lieutenant Zach Waddell, and Firefighter Pedro Rangel were awarded the Life Saving Medal for their prompt response, teamwork, and dedication to patient care.

Department commanders stated that the occurrences demonstrated the value of training, coordination, and effective leadership in high-pressure situations. Officials stated that each member displayed professionalism and sound decision-making, which reflected the standards expected throughout the fire department.
