JASPER, GA — January 24th — Flames were visible at a structure fire on Talking Rock Road when Pickens County Fire & Rescue and the Jasper Fire Department arrived on the scene. When Engine 11 got there, they discovered a fire in a house and set up handlines to start putting it out. Jasper workers backed the fire attack and set up a water supply.

Before firefighters came, the resident, who was home at the time of the incident, safely fled with three dogs. After putting out the fire, the crews stayed on the scene for around four hours to finish the overhaul and look for any concealed extensions. The house looks to be a complete loss after suffering significant damage. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is still being looked into.
