Multi-Agency Crews Respond to Jasper Fire

JASPER, GA — January 22nd — In the evening, the Hinton Volunteer Fire Department and Pickens County Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire on Antioch Church Road. A mobile home was completely involved when the first unit arrived. As other crews secured the water supply and assisted operations, Engine 11 set up an attack line and started suppressing.


Because of the prompt containment of the fire, adjacent properties were spared additional damage. At the time of the incident, the house was vacant. There were no recorded injuries to firefighters or civilians. The building was deemed a complete loss after suffering significant damage. Firefighters stayed on the scene to conduct an investigation and overhaul. The fire's cause is being investigated. The response and scene activities were supported by a number of units and safety officials.
