ST. AUGUSTINE, FL — February 4th — A brush fire at Waterwood Lane and Catlett Road was attended to by St. Johns County Fire Rescue. When units arrived, they discovered a rapidly spreading fire that was endangering multiple homes and had already damaged a nearby shed. While other resources concentrated on protecting structures and supplying water, crews promptly set up handlines and attempted to confine the fire.

The prompt suppression of the fire prevented further spread and further destruction of property. There were no reported injuries. Because of the continuous dry and windy weather throughout the county, firefighters stayed on the scene to deal with hot spots and guarantee complete containment.
