PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL — February 1st — A working residential structure fire in the 500 block of Rutile Drive was attended to by St. Johns County Fire Rescue. When crews arrived, they discovered that the house was on fire. They promptly extended handlines to start suppression efforts. Other units assisted with scene safety and secured the water supply. To make sure no one was inside the house, firefighters performed primary searches.

Timely extinguishment of the fire prevented additional damage to the building. Neither residents nor response staff were reported injured. To finish the overhaul and look for any concealed fire extensions, crews stayed on the spot. The State Fire Marshal's Office is looking into what caused the fire.
