BOCA RATON, FL — February 14th — Boca Raton Fire Rescue has awarded Battalion Chief Scott Ward the department's 2025 Firefighter of the Year, recognizing his years of service, leadership, and commitment to public safety.

Chief Ward has been serving the community for over 36 years, receiving over 130 accolades and commendations over his tenure. Department officials stated that his dedication to mentoring firemen, assisting communities, and upholding high operational standards has had a long-term impact on the department. In 2025, Ward led numerous large incidents and stopped to aid at a rollover disaster while off duty, displaying his continuous readiness to serve.
