Multiple Agencies Respond to Grass Fires Near Blakely

BLAKELY, GA — February 10th — Firefighters from the City of Blakely Fire Department and numerous mutual aid agencies reacted to a series of roadside grass fires that started near Blakely's city limits and spread along Cedar Springs Road to Seminole County. Crews worked together to put out numerous distinct flames across a large area.

Responding agencies included Early County Fire units, the Early County Sheriff's Office, Georgia Forestry, the City of Blakely Police Department, Colquitt Miller Fire Department, Seminole County Fire Department, Three Notch Fire, Miller County Fire Department, and Seminole County Volunteer Fire Rescue. Southwest Georgia Regional E-911 offered coordination and communication assistance throughout the crisis. Officials reported no casualties and no structural damage.
