Toccoa, Georgia — January 25th — Carnes Creek Fire Department responded to a reported gas leak in the 2600 block of Rock Quarry Circle after Stephens County 911 received multiple calls. Firefighters and sheriff’s deputies arrived to find a large natural gas leak at a service station near the roadway. Crews secured the scene, shut down traffic, and monitored conditions to reduce ignition risks. The City Gas Department was requested and worked with responders to shut off the gas supply and stop the leak until repairs could be completed. No injuries were reported. Officials advised that some natural gas customers in the area may experience temporary service interruptions. The incident highlighted the value of early reporting, scene control, and coordination with utility partners.
