Waycross, GA — February 5th — Waycross Fire Department personnel participated in a crisis management course centered on school-based occurrences alongside responders from throughout Southeast Georgia. The Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium presented the course, which was hosted by the Blackburn Public Safety Training Center. The participants went over how fire, law enforcement, and EMS may coordinate, communicate, and exercise unified command during complicated emergencies. Threat assessment, resource management, and recovery planning were also taught in the training. Situational awareness and decision-making skills were enhanced by scenario-based training. According to officials, this kind of training fosters closer ties between public safety organizations and schools. The course is a component of continuous initiatives to enhance readiness, fortify regional collaboration, and guarantee a coordinated reaction in the event of a severe situation involving students, employees, and the community.
