Second Alarm Declared for US 41 House Fire

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to multiple 911 calls on January 21 regarding a structure fire in the 12000 block of South U.S. Highway 41. When Engine 47 arrived, it discovered a completely involved two-story residence with surrounding residences under threat from radiating heat.
Prior to switching to defensive operations, firefighters focused protecting neighboring exposures. Crews employed aerial apparatus to manage dangers, including live electrical wires. TECO responded by safely de-energized the power lines, allowing suppression attempts to continue. A second alert was requested to summon more resources to the scene. The fire was brought under control in approximately an hour. There were no casualties recorded among bystanders or first responders. Units on duty were E12, E47, E17, TR28, L3, E16, E22, E33, R29, BC3, BC9, R12, A46, T22, T44, BR22, investigators, and support staff.
